Merion Golf Manor Neighborhood Association has started a Pollinator Program, making strategic use of eight roundabouts to support local wildlife while further beautifying this special community.
Currently, the roundabouts contain very few plants for pollinators (bees, butterflies, moths, etc.) and ZERO native plants. We have a responsibility to provide food, nesting and egg laying plants for our native species.
Each roundabout garden is designed (by me) using native and non-native/non-invasive pollinator plants coordinated to bloom spring through fall, suited to the sunny or shady conditions in each garden. Some plants are repeated for continuity between the gardens.
This program only works with community support. Volunteers are needed to plant and maintain each pollinator garden, if the association covers the planting cost.
This program also needs funding! Each garden costs $600-$1,000 depending on the size. Donors will have their family name posted on one of the gardens. Contact Gina Hagan for more Info at meriongolfmanor@gmail.com
